Strategies for the Promotion of Good Causes

Dear Participant,

We are a team at the Freie Universität Berlin (“Free University” of Berlin) conducting a survey to compare the effectiveness of strategies for encouraging rational and compassionate behavior.

We hope that you will take the 10–15 minutes it takes to complete our survey. Its results can make a significant contribution to the effective altruism movement. They will be published on claviger.net presumably in July. We will close the survey a few weeks earlier.

At no point will the questionnaire ask you to provide your name or other identifying information, but we ask you kindly to take the survey only once.

If you have any questions about the survey, please contact denis dot drescher at fu-berlin dot de.

Thank you for your time,
Effective Altruism Research Group

    I have a logical mind.
I prefer complex problems to simple problems.
I believe in trusting my hunches.
I am *not* a very analytical thinker.
I trust my initial feelings about people.
I try to avoid situations that require thinking in depth about something.
I like to rely on my intuitive impressions.
I don’t reason well under pressure.
I don’t like situations in which I have to rely on intuition.
Thinking hard and for a long time about something gives me little satisfaction.
